Barovian Steel

Barovian Steel is an alloy of steel created by combining iron, carbon, and gold. Originally devised and perfected by Mihaela Atanase in her smithy Atanase Arms in Zeidenburg, it say a quiet but steady use for farming tools, since the metal would not corrode. However, as the Time of Unparalleled Darkness truly broke out, demand for weapons and armour made of the alloy exploded, as many of the creatures of the Mist, such as fogwardens, and slimes would corrode weapons. This has made the smithy brisk business. At first, they were tight-fisted with the formula, but as demand simply outstripped the barovian family's ability to provide, they started selling ingots to other smiths, and to those whom gained their trust, the formula.
