Atanase Arms

Located in the Merchant's Row Square, Atanase Arms is one of the premier weaponsmiths in Zeidenburg. While they also sell bows from Tarniceriu Fletchery, tools of their own make, and shields, it is their weapons, forged with hardy Barovian steel, that gains them reknown. This modern alloy of steel was perfected by Rosalinde Atanase, original founder of the smithy, to provide all the benefits of steel, without any of the corrosion. As such, while it does not have the adherent mysticism of something like Rongeise steel, it is still nonetheless something that came to be sought out.

While it is unusual for a woman in Barovia to take to such a trade, such is the relative fame of the steel that Rosalinde perfected that few give much question to the fact that Atanase arms has been run by her daughter Elisabeta for some time now, though it is a family affair: both her younger brother and younger sister also tend the forge, with younger sister Isabella often being the one that faces at night see running the shop.

It is well-known that Atanase Arms makes the weapons both for the municipality garda and Lyssa's own personal garda, something that gains the shop fame and noteriety in equal measure.
