Krezk is a city located in northwestern Barovia near the border with Borca; Levkarest is close not too far away.[3]

Background

Unlike the more isolated parts of Barovia, Krezk is a thriving hub of trade along the Old Svalich Road. (The merchants approve of Burgomaster Ioan Wachter's leadership, for they attribute at least part of their continued success to his watching out for their wants and needs.) Heavy physical defenses protect Krezk's core, from which outstretch four quarters: one for general commerce, one for upscale trade, one for residences, and one for places of worship. Old architecture still remains from the ancient Terg siege.[3]

Krezk has a number of Gundarakite inhabitants migrated in from the south thanks to the presence of the Cult of the Morninglord and the Sanctuary of First Light, the Cult's greatest temple.[3]

Places to Go

  • Needle of the Ghaddar[3]
  • Smoldering Ember[4]

Law and Order

Although Ioan Wachter is the town's burgomaster, he pays little interest for matters outside of trade. As a result, Captain Gheorghe Zarneti, leader of Krezk's militia, oversees much of the town's daily affairs, although he is somewhat flustered by it.[3]
