Svari Romulich is essentially the original patriarch of the Romulich family as it currently exists. Growing up as a travelling merchant, he knew how to drive a bargain, but it was when he amassed enough to rent the land that would become the famous Romulich Orchard near Vallaki that he would create the lasting legacy to this day. Securing a deal to provide tsuika they produce to the esteemed Blue Water Inn ensured their name travelled far and wide - even outside of Barovia. Svari was as cunning as he was merchantile, and he managed to maneouver his family into recognition from Count Strahd von Zarovich himself - but he died of old age before it was acted on and formalized, and his son received the honour in his place.
To many Barovians, especially those of Vallaki, Svari is something of an inspirational figure of entrepreneurship - his social mobility brought on by his business lead many to hope they too may one day not be a mere merchant or peasant if they are but wise enough. Of course, those whom have wisdom themselves, may question what backroom deals led to the family's ascension.[1]
