The Hold of Blaustein is a small island nation located off the coast of Dementlieu.[1][2] The ruler is known only as Bluebeard, whose seat of power is at Castle Bluebeard, although he is rarely to be found there.[3]

There is a small trade hamlet and port on the other side of the island run by a Vistani tasque that offers safe haven to foreign travellers - going to Castle Bluebeard and its surrounding village is a death sentence for the typical foreigner.[5][5.1]
