Degalia lies in the Vale of Tears in central eastern Darkon near Sidnar and equidistant, as the crow flies at least, from Maykle and Nevuchar Springs. It is built on Lake Korst at the mouth of the Foaming River, part of it straddling the river in fact. It is connected to the rest of Darkon principally by riverboats reaching the Vuchar via Lake Korst and the Khourx River. It is connected to Karg by a maze of country roads and to Sidnar by the The Ascent.[1]
The town has a population of 1,500 and is overwelmingly home to halflings. Much of the place is literally built over Lake Korst and straddles the Foaming River. The town square is, however, on terra firma. The Ascent departs from it to the east.[1]
Chronology
- 740 BC The Grand Conjunction - As time goes on, Azalin Rex begins to pay less attention to Dla, and the Kargat start becoming more audacious in abusing and exploiting their authority in Delagia and Sidnar.[1]
- 750 BC - The Requiem. A wave of energy from the Doomsday Device, causing the fish locked up in the fish farms to leap about in unrest. The Monster of Lake Korst arrives some time after.[1]
- From 750 BC Up to 755 BC - With Azalin gone, the local Darkonian nobility wipe Delagia, Sidnar, and their environs clean of Kargat agents.[1]
- 751 BC - The Monster of Lake Korst, an aquatic monstrosity of unknown nature, assaults and partially feasts upon several swimmers.[1]
- 755 BC or Later - Azalin Rex returns and has the barons of Delagia and Sidnar executed, replacing them with the siblings Baroness Almeta Constantine and Baron Kasen Constantine.[1]
