Mavalga is a small fishing port on the Nocturnal Sea that harbours a population of 209 souls.[2]

Background

Mavalga is not far south of Rutledge[3] which itself stands on the border of Darkon and Nova Vaasa.[4] This is to say that it lies on the edge of the Ehrendton in northeastern Nova Vaasa.[5] The village is equipped with an inn, a tavern, a blacksmith, a dry goods store, and possibly other simple establishments. It lacks a fane of the Church of the Lawgiver, but he is worshiped here as elsewhere in the land.[6]

Mavalga was beset by a maddening wind in 755 BC. The phenomena was in fact a creature of chaos from the elemental plane of air that was twisted by its summoning into the Land of Mists. Boreas is its name, but it is known to others as the Bad Wind. Captain Josef Zhitoff of the Bulwark, with the assistance of a band of adventurers, injured and drove it off, sparing Mavalga the full force of its assault.[7]
